I’m not going to lie, I was somewhat anxious and nervous in the days leading up to my trip to New Orleans. Between the stories I’d heard and my low expectations, I wasn’t really sure what mindset to have for our weekend getaway! I can tell you now, NOLA has its charms and we had a complete blast but there are definitely quirks. Here’s what we did and what I think are must dos and things to avoid on a trip to New Orleans!
COPPER VINE
If you don’t eat anywhere else in NOLA, you must eat at Copper Vine especially if you’re planning a date night, bachelorette night, birthday etc! The ambiance is perfect for a classy yet casual night out with your friends. We walked from our condo so I never noticed where we were, but it must be close to the Super Dome. When we walked in, it was crowded with fans waiting for a Saints game to start. Surprisingly they walked us straight upstairs and sat us at the cutest round table by a window overlooking the streets of New Orleans. Soon, the place cleared out for the game and we had the whole upstairs to ourselves! We ordered the yummiest French 75s you’ll ever drink and decided to eat topas style. Every single thing we ordered was delicious. I typically don’t eat meat, but by far my favorite thing was the duck confit flatbread. Our awesome waiter threw in lots of NOLA recommendations and we were on our way for more nighttime fun!
BOURBON STREET
I was pleasantly surprised by the food and charm that New Orleans had to offer, but the one thing that didn’t surprise me was Bourbon Street. Although, I was not prepared for the smell. I guess it never occurred to me that years of vomiting on the streets can soak into the bricks. The minute you turn onto Bourbon Street, it stinks yall. I did however expect the masses of people and the trash and the crazies. My first reaction was to run back to the condo and grab some rain boots and a poncho to protect myself from all the bodily fluids running rampant. Regardless of these factors and my usual no go to these things, if you pick the right people to hang with, you’ll have a great time and you should do it!. Make sure you choose someone that won’t leave you to fend for yourself if you have one too many. We stuck to bars such as Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop Bar and The Starlight which tended to be more low key and both in close proximity to Bourbon.
COMMANDER’S PALACE
I don’t think there was one girl on our trip that didn’t feel giddy when we walked into Commander’s Palace for our mid morning Jazz Brunch. The restaurant is southern and charming and every staff member is persistent in making your experience wonderful. We enjoyed yet another beautiful round table perfect for our group near a window overlooking a gorgeous patio. Brunch at Commander’s Palace is one price for three courses. We ordered the most delicious food and kept the mimosas coming while we enjoyed some awesome jazz music. It truly is the perfect classy, southern morning.
JUSTINE
We found a great classy bar called Justine in the French quarter one night to just sit and hang out. The decor was french glam meets modern industrial. The drinks were crafty and fun and we were down for some late night snacking. The vibe is low key but charming. The perfect place to catch up with the girls and relax.
CAFE BEIGNET
If you’re trying to decide where to get a beignet in NOLA, I’m recommending Cafe Beignet. Compared to Cafe du Monde, it’s full of character and at times, a lot less busy. The beignets here are more what I would imagine a beignet to be like, warm and like a pastry. The iced cafe au lait is also incredible! Hit the shops down Royal street and grab some beignets while you’re out. You won’t regret a stop in Cafe Beignet!
NOLA was such a fun place for my friend’s bachelorette weekend! We stayed in a really great condo that was spacious and within a 10 min walk to all the things. I loved that we could get to all of our activities very easily. My only complaint was street noise. But hey, we weren’t there to sleep much anyway! Nothing some headphones couldn’t fix. I’m linking my red leopard dress (it was the Red Dress Run- we dressed the part) and our Bachelorette t-shirts!
*Nothing in this post is sponsored. These are all my personal recommendations! Also photo credits to all the other Bachelorette babes- Rachel Fischer, Lara Buysman, Wichya Russell, Taylor Sivak, CorAngela Andrade and Katie Grace Whatley they helped make these pics possible!

Bye… Thank for yourattention 🙂
Hey there this is somewhat of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
